David Savage has been active for 30 years in the San Diego area as a bassoonist and contrabassoonist with the San Diego Chamber Orchestra and with the San Diego Symphony and Opera. He was invited to join the Sunriver Music Festival Orchestra in 2000 and the Oregon Coast Music Festival Orchestra in 2002.
Mr. Savage has also performed in many chamber ensembles and played in musical shows as a woodwind doubler on bassoon, saxophones, clarinets, and flute. He is a lecturer for bassoon at UCSD and adjunct professor for bassoon at Palomar College.
His performing and recording interests have ranged from ancient music to modern and avant garde music of all kinds. Mr. Savage has recorded with various chamber ensembles on O.O. Discs, CRI, Neuma, New World Records, American Composers Forum, and Old King Cole Productions.
